Customers (Kunden)
Bavaria Leasing is the launch customer for the 928JET, signing an agreement for four with options on two more at the ILA air show in June 2000.
Also, GECAS, one of the 728JET customers, holds options that are convertible to 928JETs


Cost (Preis)
At the Berlin air show in May 1998, a list price of 23 to 23,5 million US-Dollars was mentioned.

Remarks (Bemerkungen)
The 928JET is a stretched version of the 728JET. After some consideration, Fairchild Dornier settled on the following changes:
  • new centre fuselage section, incorporating a 3,48 m stretch
  • scaled-up wing with more area and 1,95 m more span
  • strengthened main landing gear
  • new, uprated environmental control system


History (Geschichte)
Design of the 928JET started in the fourth quarter of 1999. The maiden flight is now targeted for late 2003. Service entry should follow in early 2005.
