Vulcanair P68C JET takes off!

24. February 2005 -- Vulcanair S.p.A. is happy to announce that the P68C JET has completed its first flight. The flight took place at Capodichino International airport in Naples, Italy Vulcanair's home airport. The flight lasted a little less than 60 minutes.

The P68C JET powered by two SMA SR305 227 HP Turbo-Diesel engines burning small quantities of Jet-A, showed benign flight characteristics and according to Test Pilot reports, the engines worked effortlessly.

Vulcanair looks forward to the continuation of its program for which it has not yet announced initial delivery dates. Vulcanair is strongly focusing on continuing the certification process in the shortest possible time. However Vulcanair will not start accepting orders until definite lead-times for aircraft deliveries can be met. In the near future Vulcanair will more precisely outline the performance and specifications of the aircraft which will be communicated to the public.

In addition to the Vulcanair P68C JET the company is also planning to introduce a P68 Observer JET , to satisfy the requirements of the Law Enforcement and Airborne Surveillance communities.

Vulcanair currently manufactures certified normally aspirated and turbocharged AvGas engined aircraft. When the Vulcanair P68C JET, and the Vulcanair P68 Observer JET will complete certification they will represent an to the current product line, further developing Vulcanair's unique light twin offering.
