Remarks (Bemerkungen)
The AV-8B Harrier II Plus is the latest development of this unique V/STOL combat aircraft. It differs from its predecessor by installation of a Hughes APG-65 radar in the nose, retaining the FLIR fit. First flight was on September 22, 1992 at St. Louis, with entry into service following in September 1993. Italian and Spanish aircraft are assembled at Alenia and CASA respectively, with last deliveries planned for the end of 1997. Other Harrier variants include the Sea Harrier FA2 uprgade for the Royal Navy.
