Remarks (Bemerkungen)
In 1992, Mitsubishi started development of the RP-1 experimental helicopter.First flight was in September 1994, and testing was completed in March 1995. From this beginning, the company decided on the development of the MH2000, which made its maiden flight on 29 July 1996. A second prototype followed later in the year. Basic certification by the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau was achieved in June 1997.
