Remarks (Bemerkungen) Seneca design stems from the early 70s, and model was updated frequently, with the Seneca IV being introduced in 1994. Development of Seneca V was secretly started in December 1994. After a 500 hour flight test-programme with three aircraft, the FAA granted certification on December 11, 1996.
