AT-63 PAMPA PERFORMS FLIGHT TEST BEFORE LOCKHEED MARTIN AIRCRAFT ARGENTINA'S EMPLOYEES

Argentinean Air Force trainer successfully completed bench testing, currently undergoing flight testing

Córdoba, Argentina, June 30, 2005 -- The AT-63 Pampa performed a flight test today at Lockheed Martin Aircraft Argentina's facility in Córdoba before the company's 1,000 employees. The demonstrator aircraft of the new configuration of the Pampa, destined to be part of the Argentinean Air Force fleet, has already successfully completed all ground tests and is now undergoing flight testing.

“It is a source of great satisfaction that today all of our employees attended a flight test of the AT-63 Pampa. This aircraft is an example of our commitment to develop top-notch technology in Argentina, as well as the dedication and talent of our employees,” said Alberto Buthet, president of Lockheed Martin Aircraft Argentina.

The AT-63 Pampa is a low-cost advanced trainer and light attack aircraft. The new generation Pampa will provide the ease of maintenance and airframe stability of the original version, while featuring an upgraded crew station and digital avionics suite with a military standard 1553B data bus architecture and sophisticated mission computers to provide more reliability to support advanced weapon systems.  These upgrades reduce the AT-63 maintenance costs by using the modular approach to systems design.

Lockheed Martin Aircraft Argentina is a major industry leader in the province of Córdoba. A member of Lockheed Martin Aircraft & Logistics Centers, LMAASA employs approximately 1,000 people, thus constituting one of the most important aerospace industry centers in Latin America.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 130,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2004 sales of $35.5 billion.
